Choose a grid by photo count and cell shape
Four pictures fill a 2x2 grid and nine fill a 3x3 grid. Six fit two rows of three in the six-photo layout. Larger collections can use the adaptive grid, within the editor's 20-photo limit. A fixed grid with fewer pictures may leave unfilled cells; choose a layout closer to your count.
On a square 3x3 canvas, the cells are square. Changing the canvas to portrait makes those same cells taller. Review the crop of each photo after changing proportions, especially when the collection mixes group shots and close portraits.
Make the reading order deliberate
Use left-to-right rows for chronology, group similar products together, or distribute bright colors across the grid to avoid one heavy corner. For a portfolio, similar subject scale makes the work easier to compare.
